Community Center

The first community center in Cuslett was completed in 1986.  Here all social in the community are held and during the summer of 1987 the people of Cuslett hosted their first garden party, which was a huge success.  It was also the same year that the Tramore Theatre Troupe started producing community theatre in Cuslett sponsored by the Come Home Year committee . In 2003 the Tramore Theatre Troupe became incorporated as Tramore Productions Inc. and went on to produce original plays under the direction of playwright Agnes Walsh and Coordinator/Administrator Arlene Morrissey.   During the summer seasons the Cuslett Recreation Center was transformed into a summer theater that saw patrons from near and far coming to learn the history of the Cape Shore, to view the talent of local actors, enjoy the traditional food and musical entertainment offered by the group.  The group continued for 12 years when it was forced to close due to limited funding and out migration.  There is a book published of the seven original plays written and directed by Agnes Walsh.  It is called ‘Answer Me Home’ and is available at several bookstores in Newfoundland.
